IKE Fat

Okay, so I survived the horrible hurricane that came through Houston but not without gaining weight!!!!  First of all , we lost power for only two days so we were blessed but I broke my little toe and am wobbling around with an orthopedic shoe.  During the past ten days all I have done is eat ,eat and eat some more.  Ya know we did not want our food to spoil and we bought lots of chips, cookies, ya know all the good stuff.  I have not gotten on the scale yet but I can feel it in my clothes….there is a little extra jiggle there!  I have gone back to the gym 2 times to lift weights.  I am bumbed because I was doing pretty good on the C25K program which I will not be able to do for at least 6 weeks now and I will not be able to participate in the Susan B Komen run Oct 4th!  Does anyone have any suggestion of cardio exercise I can do???  I am going to try the bicycle tonight but I really do not want to gain back the weight I have lost  already!!!!  Thank you BS buddies for your thoughts and prayers during the hurricane.  Some people really have it bad… lost homes, lost jobs, some withouot power and water.   I feel for the people waiting in lines for food stamps…..Please continue to pray for these people…thanks.

Hurricane Ike…

Just sitting here watching the news worried what this hurricane is going to bring us.  It is not looking good, a little nerve racking!! The kids are out of school today.  My oldest is excited just to be out of school.  My son (8 year old) is scared, and my little one (3 year old) said that she did not have school because a big cloud is coming.  The last time this happened (Rita) Houston/Galveston  got  lucky at the last minute because it took a turn and hit LA.   My oldest daughter became best friends with a little girl who had to move to Houston from New Orleans because of Rita.  They finally moved back to New Orleans but just thinking about how their lives were effected gets me down.  I hope and prey that this hurricane loses it momentum.  Watching the news right now and it is not looking good.  It is already flooding in Galveston and it has not even started to rain….It is still sunny here…maybe a will go take a walk to relieve a little stress!!!

Finally…hit mini goal this morning…

It is a great morning for me!!! I finally hit my mini goal again.  Woke up this morning and jumped on the scale and had to take a double look to see that I am at 144.5.  I got down to 145 once already but got sidetracked during the summer with vacation and loss of motivation.  I already set my new mini goal of 140 lbs which I hope to achieve by the end of the month.  I feel very motivated right now so I am going to continue what I have been doing to reach my final goal.  I do miss all my diamond buddies..hope you all are doing great!!!!!  Thanks bs buddies for all the support and motivation!!!

Back on Track

I went to the grocery store tonight to get back on track.  I have been doing pretty good exercising 4 to 5 times per week but have not been eating like I should to lose weight.  I will eat good one day and not so good for two days.  I was short of my goal by 5.5 lbs by my birthday. I have decided to give myself until the end of June to meet my goal.  I have noticed changes in my body but not so much on the scale.  I plan on getting back to journaling my food intake as well as keeping up with how many calories I  burn.  Today I noticed that some people that started at the same time I did have lost much more weight than me.  This made me grumpy for the rest of the day.  Don’t get me wrong, I am happy for those people, just disappointed in myself.  So I plan on working hard to reach my goal by the end of this month….

1500 calories a day

striving for my 2nd mini goal…

Well I finally made it under the 150lbs…149.5 to be exact but the weight ticker would not let me mark the half pound so I rounded down.  I have a pound and a half to make my second mini goal.  I am soooo excited, it has been a little of a struggle but well worth it.   I have dropped on pant size and people have noticed that I have lost weight.  I can hosestly say I feel much better about myelf.  This week I plan on working very hard to reach this goal.  I actually seem to do better when log in the food journal and the calories burned but sometimes I get lazy.  Thank you for all the support and hope everyone has a good Monday!!

hot yoga

I have not blogged here for almost one month now.  I lost 10 pounds in about three weeks and have been stuck at about 152/151 for about one month now.  I joined a couple of forums which have been absolutely great!!!  Would highly recommend for the extra support and motivation.  Everyone is very supportive!!!  Yesterday I tried Bikram Yoga which I really enjoyed.  It is also known  as “hot” yoga because you do it in a heated room.  The class run 90 minutes, you do 26 poses twice and the room is 105 degrees so needless to say, you sweat a lot!!!    I enjoyed it so much that I went back today.  I am soooo sore all over and it feels wonderful!!!! i can’t remember the last time i’ve been this sore.  If anyone has done hot yoga I would like to get some feedback…..Thanks, have a great Monday!!!!

My first mini goal!!!!

 Rolly 1 I made it to my first mini goal, hooray for me!!!!!!   I am pretty excited this morning, needless to say.  I updated my mini and final goal.  I added 5 more lbs to my total weight loss goal.  I plan to take it one day at a time with small goals therefore I don’t get discouraged.  I have done pretty good staying within my calorie intake most days.  I seem to do better when I log in my food journal/calories burned journal.  Thanks buddyslim this is a great websight!!!!

7lbs!!!!!

So far I have lost 7lbs and it feels great.  I can tell that I have lost weight in my clothes and my husband has complimented me.  This buddyslim sight has definietly helped me accomplish my weight loss thus far.  I have found that the food journal and the calorie counter have been very helpful.  I am still a little new to this sight therefore I have not taken advantage of blogging much but I do get online every night and read what other people have to say. Thanks for the support!!

5lbs gone….

Yes, I finally lost five pounds and it is motivating.  Hopefully that will help me through the weekend with the superbowl and my daughters birthday party.  I have found that it is okay to have a free meal.  I have been eating lunch and dinner out of a box to make sure I count my calories correctly for the first two weeks.  I am still okay with it but eventually I hope to move on to real food.  My problem is portion control.  I plan to just take it one day at a time.  Have a good weekend!  Go Patriots!
